Summary
While studies and developments for dual fuel diesel engines are in progress, propulsion for LNG ships is still achieved with steam turbines and boilers. Steam production is traditionally achieved by steam boilers, however the experience and improvements from stationary plants is today applied in marine boilers. Today, sophisticated control systems and reliable equipment give improved flexibility.
