Summary

THE CABBAGE WAS STORED BETWEEN 274 AND 276 K (1 AND 3 DEG C) AT 85 TO 90% RH. FOR THE SHORT-TERM STORAGE OF SUMMER CABBAGE AND LONG-TERM STORAGE OF AUTUMN CABBAGE, NITROGEN FERTILISATION UP TO 200 KG/HA DOES NOT DECREASE THE STORAGE SUITABILITY OF CABBAGE. AFTER 100 DAY STORAGE OF AUTUMN CABBAGE, AT DOSES OF 300 AND 400 KG/HA, TOTAL LOSSES OF ABOUT 30% WERE OBSERVED. DOSES OF FERTILISERS NOT HIGHER THAN 200 KG/HA ARE THEREFORE RECOMMENDED.
