Strategy of measurements and modelling for the design of protective clothing.

Summary

The design of protective suits has to take into account the influence of the clothing on human thermal response. In fact, modelling or using an experimental procedure is not sufficient to optimize the protection for all requirements. This design process goes through several steps, starting with samples and ending with final clothing in accordance with the user requirements: first step: measuring of specific clothing parameters, on samples; second step: modelling of the human thermoregulatory system; third step: real subject test, with protective clothing, in a climatic chamber.
