STUDIES ON CONTROLLED ATMOSPHERE STORAGE FOR FRUIT AND VEGETABLES.

Summary

THE COLD STORAGE OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES HAS DEVELOPED CONSIDERABLY IN INDIA. MOST PLANT ARE CONVENTIONAL. STUDIES WERE MADE FOR THE USE OF CONTROLLED ATMOSPHERES FOR FRUIT AND VEGETABLES. THE PRESENT STUDY ENVISAGES A CA COOLING SYSTEM USING NITROGEN FROM A PSA UNIT AND COOLING SYSTEM BASED ON THE REVERSE BRAYTON CYCLE. AN EVALUATION WAS MADE OF THE TECHNICAL ASPECT COMPARED TO THE CONVENTIONAL COOLING SYSTEM.
