THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF CA STORE ROOMS FOR FRUIT ARE DISCUSSED. MODERN PROCEDURES FOR INSULATION AND DESIGN OF A HERMETIC SEAL ARE DESCRIBED. STANDARDS ARE GIVEN FOR GAS LEAKAGES, WITH CERTIFICATION CRITERIA. THE SYSTEMS USED FOR LOWERING O2 LEVEL AND CONTROLLING CO2 ARE DISCUSSED. THE PRESENT TREND IS FOR SMALLER ROOMS TO ATTAIN RAPID ATMOSPHERE CONTROL, THE USE OF ELECTRONIC CONTROLS AND GAS ANALYZERS.
