Summary

PERFORMANCE OF THE WATER-LITHIUM BROMIDE-GAMMA-BUTYROLACTONE (20 MOLES WATERL MOLE GAMMA-BUTYROLACTONE) ABSORPTION REFRIGERATING MACHINE AND THE PHYSICAL (DENSITY, VISCOSITY, SOLUBILITY AND VAPOUR PRESSURE) AND THERMAL PROPERTIES (SPECIFIC HEAT AND INTEGRAL HEAT OF MIXING) OF THE GAMMA-BUTYROLACTONE AQUEOUS SOLUTION OF LITHIUM BROMIDE WERE MEASURED. THE EMPIRICAL FORMULAS FOR VAPOUR PRESSURE AND SPECIFIC HEAT WERE CORRELATED FROM EXPERIMENTAL DATA. THE PROPERTIES OF THIS SYSTEM EXCEPT FOR DENSITY AND SPECIFIC HEAT WERE COMPARED WITH THAT OF THE OTHER SYSTEM USING WATER AS THE REFRIGERANT. FROM THESE DATA, THE ENTHALPY-CONCENTRATION CHART (LIQUID PHASE) OF THE WATER-LITHIUM BROMIDE-GAMMA-BUTYROLACTONE SYSTEM WAS CONSTRUCTED.
