Summary

The study is on the management of heat in two-adsorber adsorption machines. The author examined: 1) two pairs: zeolite-water and active carbon-methanol; 2) two cycles: heat-recovery cycle and mass-recovery cycle; 3) two types of machines: pilot heat pump of 230 kilowatts fitted in an industrial site and a prototype refrigerating machine. As far as the heat pump is concerned, the author studies its control and application to an industrial domestic-hot-water supply circuit. Three definitive parameters for the control of the zeolite-water heat pump are underlined. As far as the adsorption refrigerating machine is concerned, which transfers the refrigerant between the two adsorbers, the author shows that the regeneration temperature can be lowered and that it is possible to generate cold at -10 deg C by using thermal waste at 80-90 deg C for regenerating active carbon.
