Summary

In order to reduce the environmental impact from the refrigeration industry, newer low GWP working fluids has been proposed to replace their high GWP counterparts. Refrigerant mixture presents an interesting engineering solution as the composition can be adjusted to meet the various criteria for performance and safety, etc. With the popularization of mini-size channel as an advanced design of heat exchanger in term of heat transfer rate and efficiency, low GWP refrigerant blends are potentially suitable working fluid. For application, the heat transfer coefficient of the blend inside mini-tube has to be known as a prior. In this work the heat transfer coefficient is investigated at different heat flux and mass flux. The characteristic of heat transfer of zeotropic mixture is examined and analysed.
