Study on optimum design method of absorption refrigerator. 2. Application to double effect absorption cycle.

Author(s) : JEONG J., SAITO K., KAWAI S.

Summary

Despite the fact that an absorption refrigerator is required to improve its efficiency, even the design method of the absorption cycle has not been fully investigated. This research discusses the optimum design method of a double-effect absorption refrigerator, which has spread generally. The objects of the analysis are three typical double-effect absorption flows - series, reverse and parallel flow. COP is the evaluation function. As the analysis technique, the exterior point penalty function method, which can analyze nonlinear optimization problems with constraints, and the success and failure method are adopted to find out the optimum point. As a result, optimum COP for each flow was derived. For example, at the point of 80% temperature efficiency, it was 1.35, 1.37 and 1.40 for the series, reverse and parallel flow respectively.
