Summary

Polyolester oils were selected for use with R134a because of their miscibility. The authors found sludge deposition in capillary tubes after life tests of the refrigerator with polyolester (POE) and detected metal soap, decomposed oil and alkaline ions by analysis of sludge. They improved the stability and lubricity of POE and reevaluated process materials and contaminations in refrigerating circuit. The paper discussed these newly developed technologies and the evaluation results in terms of life test of refrigerator.
