Study on the performance of a thermoacoustic prime mover with finned-tube heat exchangers.

Author(s) : JIN T., ZHONG X. M., CAI J. C., et al.

Summary

The finned-tube heat exchangers, commonly for air-conditioning systems, are adopted as the main and secondary cold heat exchangers of a torus-shaped travelling-wave thermoacoustic prime mover. Numerical simulation for the thermoacoustic system is carried out to observe wave status and pressure amplitude along the loop, and to discuss the influence of main cold heat exchanger's structural parameters on the performance of thermoacoustic prime mover. Analysis is also made on the performance of thermoacoustic prime mover with CO2 and N2 as working fluid, respectively.
