Summary

Growth and survival of L. monocytogenes strains Scott A and V7 at 4 and 13 deg C in tryptose broth containing 0 to 100 g/L sodium chloride was determined. A three-way analysis of variance showed that storage time, strain of L. monocytogenes, concentration of sodium chloride, and their interactions were significant in determining behaviour of the bacterium at the two holding temperatures.
