Summary
Substantiated with sufficient data and facts, the article discusses the wide gap between China's energy resources and the huge energy demand to maintain high-speed economic growth; the environment has little room left for further worsening, and China's HVAC industry contributes up to 15 percent in the total emission of the greenhouse gases in this country. It proposes some countermeasures to meet the severe challenge inherent in aspects of green buildings, thermal comfort criteria, design techniques and equipment manufacture of the industry.
