Summary

Annual domestic growth over the past five years has averaged 20% and of the 1992 consumption, 62% was produced locally and 38% imported. Average annual consumption of frozen food is 6 kg per person, similar to Japan. Exports totalled 400,000 tons per annum and the Peoples Republic of China is a developing market. The future depends on the best in management techniques and production technology, together with further investment in mainland China and overseas. G.R.S.
