Test application of a small size gas engine driven heat pump.

Summary

The gas engine driven heat pump (GHP) represents a logical alternative to conventional electric space-conditioning machines, even for residential and light commercial applications. Since 1992 a field test on a Japanese-made small size GHP, used in an office in Naples, has been accomplished to the aim of evaluating the actual performance in a "in situ" test to be compared to the manufacturer's. The performance of the actual machine has been processed to highlight influence of many parameters such as: outdoor temperature, operation time, number of indoor units. In particular, the operation at partial load conditions has been considered.
