Test results of the DPC-TJ: thermal and hydraulic performance.

Summary

The weight of the coil is 2.8 tons. It took about 180 hours to cool the coils from room temperature to 20 K. The DPC-TJ coil's heat load was 20 watts at zero transport current and 40 watts at 24 kiloamperes, the rated charging state. Alternating-current losses and inductive losses by heat input cause the quick decrease of the helium flow rate at the coil inlet position. This phenomenon was analyzed, and one of the design standards was derived.
