SEVERAL AIRCRAFT ACCIDENTS, ON TAKING OFF, WERE DUE TO THE PRESENCE OF ICE ON THE PLANE, MAKING IT HEAVIER AND MODIFYING ITS PROFILE. THE CEMAGREF WAS ENTRUSTED WITH AN INVESTIGATION AIMING AT EVALUATING, IN A COLD ROOM, THE EFFICIENCY OF DE-ICING OR ANTI-ICE PRODUCTS. THE AUTHORS GIVE THE RESULTS OF TESTS MADE ON ALUMINIUM SURFACES PROTECTED BY ANTI-ICE PRODUCTS.
