Summary

In the current labyrinth piston compressor, the piston is always guided by the crosshead and the guide bearing. However, the guiding precision of this structure is poor, the piston is often in a state of eccentricity running in the cylinder, and the compressed gas serious inner leakage caused the volumetric efficiency is only about 50%~60%, which has caused a great waste of energy. This paper introduces a kind of active magnetic control system to solve the problem of the eccentric running of the piston in labyrinth piston compressor. A new control strategy based on three closed-loops of current, speed and displacement is presented. The structure of the labyrinth piston compressor is given at first. According to this, a simple control system based on an electromagnetic guide sleeve and a piston rod is designed. And the nonlinear model of the electromagnetic coil that generates electromagnetic force for centering control of the piston is built. Based on the model, a linearization method is proposed. Secondly, the control model of the three closed-loops is built and the regulators are designed. Hereinto, the speed closed-loop is built on a new speed observation method of the least square linear fitting to the displacement data. Finally, simulation is done to verify the feasibility of the control system.
