The application of gas technologies for air conditioning in the service sector.
[In Italian. / En italien.]
Author(s) : RUSSO F.
Type of article: Article
Summary
The paper looks at the technical and economic aspects of the main gas air-conditioning technologies, evaluating in general terms their potential for use in typical service sector structures. An appropriately configured nomograph permits an initial evaluation, relative to the tariff conditions and energy parameters prevailing in the different countries under examination, of the economic feasibility of absorption system air-conditioning plant compared to the commonly used gas boiler plus electric chiller. Indications regarding possible interventions to render gas technology feasible may be deduced from this nomograph. Finally, the potential adoption of gas air conditioning in Italy is discussed.
