THE BENEFITS OF USING PALLET COVERS FOR FROZEN BLOCKS OF FISH.

Author(s) : GRAHAM J., ROGER A.

Summary

FROZEN FISH STORED IN BULK IS NORMALLY STACKED UNPACKAGED IN A COLD ROOM IN 1 TONNE PALLET LOADS. PLASTIC COVERS ARE SOMETIMES USED IN ORDER TO PREVENT DEHYDRATION AND CONTAMINATION. COMPARATIVE TESTS SHOW THAT A DECREASE IN WEIGHT LOSS AND THE TEMPERATURE RISE DURING HANDLING ARE ADVANTAGES WHICH, BY THEMSELVES, JUSTIFY THE COST OF PALLET COVERS.
