Summary

CURRENT AUSTRALIAN STANDARDS FOR FRESH AIR QUANTITY ARE LOWER THAN FOR MOST OTHER COUNTRIES, AND MAY BE INSUFFICIENT TO GIVE ADEQUATE DILUTION OF INDOOR POLLUTANTS. ENERGY COSTS FOR INCREASING THIS RATE WOULD NOT BE EXCESSIVE. GOOD FILTRATION USUALLY ENSURES THE QUALITY OF FRESH AIR INTAKE. A HEALTHY WORKING ENVIRONMENT MUST ALSO CONSIDER TEMPERATURE, HUMIDITY AND AIR MOVEMENT. SUBJECTIVE COMFORT FACTORS MAY BE OFFICE LAYOUT, LIGHTING, OVERCROWDING AND LACK OF NATURAL LIGHT. A.R.T.
