Summary
A model of absorption chillers and heat pumps is proposed that reduces their operating characteristics into two simple algebraic equations (capacity and COP). These equations still contain the complete thermodynamic information of the systems and they can be solved analytically. The results obtained with the model deviate only marginally from the exact numerical simulations, if the range of change in operating conditions is not too large.
