The corrosion behaviour of LaFe11.6Si1.4 alloy in inorganic and organic water solution.

Number: sect. 2

Author(s) : TANG Y., CHEN Y., ZHANG E.

Summary

The corrosion behavior of LaFe11.6Si1.4 alloy was investigated in Na2WO4 water solution and benzotriazole/sodium benzoate mixed solution by electrochemical measurements. The results show that the corrosion was inhibited by Na2WO4 solution. The high inhibition effect was due to the slow anodic dissolved reaction and the low diffusion at low concentration of inhibitor. While in benzotriazole/sodium benzoate mixed solution, the inhibition efficiency was influenced seriously by the concentration of benzotriazole and pH value. The high concentration benzotriazole was advantaged to form a compact oxidation layer and prevent the dissolution of Fe.
