Summary

A NEW ANALYTICAL MODEL IS PRESENTED, WHICH MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO PREDICT THE CRITICAL PRESSURE IN A TWO-PHASE FLOW. THIS PRESSURE IS OBSERVED IN MOST OF THE CASES AT THE END OF THE EXPANSION. IT CONSTITUTES THE STARTING POINT FOR THE CALCULATION BY ITERATION OF THE CAPILLARY TUBE LENGTH. THE PRESSURES MEASURED AT THE ADIABATIC CAPILLARY TUBE OUTLETS, IN A REFRIGERATING LOOP OPERATING WITH R12, R22 AND R114, MADE IT POSSIBLE TO DETERMINE THE ANALYTICAL COEFFICIENTS. THE APPLICATION OF THIS NEW MODEL TO OTHER FLUIDS LEADS TO RESULTS WHICH CORRESPOND TO THE EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS FOR THE NON-AZEOTROPIC MIXTURES R12-R114, R22-R114 AND R12-R22-R114.
