THE DOUBLE-EFFECT REGENERATIVE ABSORPTION HEAT PUMP: CYCLE DESCRIPTION AND EXPERIMENTAL TEST RESULTS.

Author(s) : RASSON J., DAO K., WAHLIG M.

Summary

THE AUTHORS DESCRIBE A UNIT WHICH IS A COMBINATION OF AMMONIA-WATER REGENERATIVE ABSORPTION CHILLER/HEAT PUMP. THE CYCLE HEAT PUMP HAS SEVERAL ADVANTAGES OVER OTHER TYPES OF DOUBLE-EFFECT MACHINES. ITS COP INCREASES CONTINUOUSLY WITH INCREASING INPUT TEMPERATURE, IT HAS A HIGHER COP THAN CONVENTIONAL DOUBLE-EFFECT MACHINES, AND HAS A MUCH LOWER PRACTICAL CUT-OFF INPUT TEMPERATURE. A PROTOTYPE WAS TESTED TO PROVE THE FEASIBILITY OF THIS TYPE OF CYCLE. TEST DATA ARE GIVEN.
