Summary

STATES THAT DESPITE THE TIGHTNESS OF THE FIT, THE THERMAL RESISTANCE AT THE PIPE/FIN INTERFACE REDUCES THE THERMAL EFFECTIVENESS OF THE FINNING TO A GREATER OR LESSER DEGREE, DEPENDING ON THE FACTORS DETERMINING THE QUALITY OF THE CONTACT. PRESENTS THE RESULTS OF AN EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF THE INFLUENCE OF VARIOUS FACTORS ON THE THERMAL RESISTANCE OF THE CONTACT AND THE CHARACTERISTICS OF DEVICES WITH ATTACHED FINS. PROVIDES A QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE EFFECT OF THESE FACTORS.
