The efficacy of antioxidants administered during low temperature storage of warm ischemic kidney tissue slices.
Author(s) : MCANULTY J. F., HUANG X. Q.
Type of article: Article
Summary
These results suggest that supplemental antioxidants added to the UW gluconate solution under conditions analogous to machine perfusion preservation have a potential role in reducing oxidative stress in kidney tissues harvested after warm ischemia and that hypothermia may be a valuable adjunct to resuscitative therapeutic regimens developed for salvage of ischemic kidneys for transplatation.
