Describes current rules of thumb for buildings with natural cross ventilation and looks at opportunities for going beyond these rules. Also assesses the implications for thermal comfort and draught risk. In the conclusions discusses local ventilation rates, the position of windows, use of ceiling fans on hot days and means of enhancing internal air speeds and air change rates and related issues.
