Summary
The TEWI (Total Equivalent Warming Impact) of refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat-pump equipment in Germany can be consistently reduced up to the year 2005 only if the predicted advances in energy use, new refrigerants, system sealing and refrigerant recycling are achieved. In such a case, ozone depletion (from German sources) could be reduced by 85% and TEWI by 25 to 45%.
