Summary

AN EXPERIMENT WAS CONDUCTED WITH 24 CALVES ; THE CALVES OF A TEST GROUP WERE TRANSFERRED TO HUTCHES WITH RUNS ON THE FIRST DAY OF LIFE, THE CALVES OF A CONTROL GROUP WERE KEPT IN A HEAT-INSULATED STABLE. FROM BIRTH TO THE AGE OF90 DAYS THE FEED MIXTURE INTAKE PER 1 KG WEIGHT GAIN WAS 1.13 KG IN THE TEST GROUP AND 1.09 KG IN THE CONTROL GROUP. NO DISEASE WAS RECORDED IN THE CALVES OF THE TEST GROUP ; IN THE CONTROL GROUP BRONCHITIS AND PNEUMONIA REQUIRING EMERGENCY SLAUGHTER WERE RECORDED, AND IN 2 ANIMALS DISORDERS OF THE DIGESTIVE TRACT WERE FOUND.
