Summary

This report is the summary of the 2nd Technical Workshop of the Joule Programme, organized in Messina. It concerns gas-solid heat pumps, and more particularly adsorption processes and gas-solid reactions. It could be divided into 3 main themes: design of gas-solid systems, operation problems, and marketability and cost. These gas-solid systems could be applied to: high temperature (industrial) heat pumps; low temperature (space heating) heat pumps; air conditioning; refrigeration; and freezing.
