The impact of temperature on localized corrosion of certain metals: macro- and microelectrochemical investigations on 304 stainless steel in the temperature range from 0 to 90 °C [+ microfiches].

Summary

The fact that the stability of localized corrosion decreases as a function of increasing temperature is well-known. However, the extent of this decrease as reported in the literature varies widely. This thesis gives conclusions about mechanical aspects of the temperature dependence and describes critical pitting temperature investigations. This thesis can be downloaded from ETH's Web site: e-collection.ethz.ch/ediss/fulltext/eth13258.pdf. Also available as microfiches.
