Summary

FREEZING AND THAWING CAUSED A CONSIDERABLE REDUCTION OF SPERMATOZOA IN THE FROZEN STORED SAMPLE AS COMPARED TO FRESH SEMEN. THE HIGHEST REDUCTION IN SPERMATOZOON MOVEMENT IS ACHIEVED BY COOLING A DILUTED SEMEN SAMPLE FOR 2.5 HRS AT 277 K (4 DEG C). THE OPTIMAL ENVIRONMENT IS AN OSMOTIC PRESSURE OF 338 MOSM AND PH 6.8. IN SOLUTIONS OF EXTREME PRESSURE (112 AND 478 MOSM) AND PH (5.5 AND 8.0), THE MOVEMENT OF SPERMATOZOA ALSO REDUCES, WITH AN INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF DESTROYED SPERMATOZOA. DETRUITS.
