Summary

THE DESTRUCTION AND PRESERVATION OF CHROMOSOMES ARE RELATED TO THE CHANGE OF THE FORM STRUCTURE AND WHETHER THEY CAN REPRODUCE. IN OBSERVING CHROMOSOMES FROZEN RAPIDLY AND SLOWLY, IT WAS FOUND THAT RAPID FREEZING DESTROYS THE CHROMOSOMES AND DISTORTS THEM SUCH THAT THE CELLS DIE. WITH SLOW FREEZING, NO DESTRUCTION WAS OBSERVED.
