JRAIA predicts that the total shipment value of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment (domestic shipments + exports of 13 items) for reference year 1996 (October 1995-September 1996) will reach 2,480,849 million yens, down 2.5% from 1995. Apart from three items which will decrease from 1995, all other items are predicted to increase. However, room air conditioners are anticipated to show a 9.8% drop, while air conditioners for railcars and buses and refrigerated transportation units are also predicted to decrease.
