The latest refrigeration technologies: how to lower environmental impacts?
Author(s) : CLODIC D.
Summary
To lower environmental impacts of refrigeration and heat pump systems, several issues have to be addressed. In terms of TEWI (total equivalent warming impact), direct emissions of refrigerants have to be lowered and the GWP (global warming potential) of refrigerants has to be lowered too. Due to the significant impact of energy consumption during the lifetime of all refrigeration equipment, the essential option in order to lower the environmental impact is to improve significantly the energy efficiency of the system.
