The latest technologies of automotive air conditioning systems.

Summary
Inter City Express has installed air-cycle air-conditioning systems in train cars. The air cycle has practical applications within the freezing range but is less suitable for air conditioning. The main reason for adopting the air cycle is that the increase of energy caused by low efficiency does not influence global warming as much as leakage of HFCs or HCFCs, because the summer season in Europe is short and the gas leakage of 'refrigerators on wheels' is much more than that of fixed ones. It is proven that air-cycle technology is suitable for air conditioning under certain conditions.
