Summary
The centrifugal chiller is a high performance and big capacity heat source system. R-134a is mainly used in that system and the COP is over 6.4. It is indispensable to develop a higher performance system than the conventional one to use new alternate refrigerant by targeting to reduce CO2. This paper reports the current situation of new alternative refrigerants for the centrifugal chiller, considering refrigerant transition history and required specific characteristics.
