The numerical analysis of conjugated thermal discharge problem in a PCM thermal storage container.

Author(s) : BU W., CHEN C., JIAN R., et al.

Summary

The paper studies the model of thermal storage container that filled with phase change material (PCM) columns, demonstrates the conjugated convection-heat conduction problem of PCM and heat transfer medium, defines different computational domains and different governing equations. In the model, the authors describe an enthalpy-temperature method for the solution of Stefan problems in a fixed domain; apply the finite volume method to solve the governing equations, verify the model by experiment values, analyse the phase change material's thermal discharge characteristics.
