THE OPTIMIZATION DESIGN FOR A RECIPROCATING COMPRESSOR TO MEET MINIMUM ENERGY CONSUMPTION.

Author(s) : XING Z., XU Y., SHU P.

Summary

THE AUTHORS REGARD MINIMUM ENERGY CONSUMPTION OF A COMPRESSOR AS OBJECTIVE FUNCTION FOR OPTIMIZATION OF THE RATIO OF PISTON STROKE TO CYLINDER DIAMETER AND VALVE PARAMETERS. THE STROKE, ROTATION SPEED AND 10 VALVE PARAMETERS ARE CONSIDERED AS VARIABLES UNDER CERTAIN CONSTRAINTS, AND THE COMPRESSOR PERFORMANCE INCLUDING INDICATED POWER, MECHANICAL FRICTION POWER AND DELIVERY VOLUME WHICH COMPOSE THE OBJECTIVE FUNCTION IS SOLVED BY MODELING COMPRESSOR PROCESS IN THE COMPRESSOR DESIGN. A DIAGRAM TO DETERMINE AN OPTIMUM RATIO OF PISTON STROKE TO CYLINDER DIAMETER UNDER VARIOUS OPERATION CONDITIONS OF A SINGLE STAGE, SINGLE ACTION RECIPROCATING COMPRESSOR IS GIVEN FOR THE USE OF COMPRESSOR DESIGN.
