Summary

WITH ENGINE-DRIVEN HEAT PUMPS THE EXHAUST GAS EMITTED BY THE ENGINE CONTAINS NOXIOUS ELEMENTS WHICH POLLUTE THE ATMOSPHERE, HOWEVER, THE EXHAUST GAS IS A GOOD SOURCE OF THERMAL ENERGY WHICH, IF RECOVERED, INCREASES THE COP OF THE HEAT PUMP INSTALLATION. EXPERIMENTS WERE CARRIED OUT TO PURIFY AND RECOVER THE THERMAL ENERGY OF THE GAS WITH THE AID OF A WET-TYPE ELECTROSTATIC PRECIPITATOR WHICH WAS FOUND TO HAVE A HIGH COLLECTION EFFICIENCY AND GOOD GAS-TO-LIQUID HEAT EXCHANGE.
