THE SIMPLEST WAY OF WINTER COLDNESS STORAGE.

Summary

IN ORDER TO BENEFIT FURTHER FROM WINTER SNOW COLDNESS AS A REFRIGERATION SOURCE DURING SPRING AND EARLY SUMMER, SNOW WAS COLLECTED AND STORED INSIDE A VEGETABLE STORAGE ROOM AND COVERED WITH SAWDUST. AS THE ROOM TEMPERATURE RAISED, THE SNOW WAS UNCOVERED, EXPOSING IT TO AMBIENT AIR WHICH WAS IN TURN COOLED AS THE SNOW MELTED WHILE ABSORBING THE EXCESS HEAT. THE USE OF SNOW AS A HEAT SINK SOURCE IS AN INEXPENSIVE WAY TO STORE VEGETABLES IN A COOLED ROOM WITHOUT USING CONVENTIONAL REFRIGERATION SYSTEM.
