The solubility and viscosity of solutions of R502 in a naphthenic oil and in an alkylbenzene at high pressures and temperatures.

Summary

Results for liquid mixtures of 10 to 40% R502 (by mass) in a ISO 32 viscosity grade (150 SUS) naphthenic oil and in a ISO 32 viscosity grade (150 SUS) alkylbenzene are reported over the temperature range 38 to 149 deg C. Results are presented in graphical form as well as in empirical correlations. For the R502-naphthenic oil mixtures, two liquid phases were encountered in tests at the higher concentrations where immiscibility was expected. Solubility, viscosity, and density data are reported over the region of complete miscibility.
