Summary

The article describes a study of a stepper-motor controlled expansion valve and an evaporator. The tests were carried out on a fixed refrigerating machine of cooling capacity below 6 watts with constant condensation conditions and variable evaporating temperature (-20 to 10 deg C) and compressor speeds (1000 to 3000 rpm). Two control algorithms were developed for opening and closing the valve with the stepper motor.
