The use of flammable refrigerants: revision of the DIN standard 7003, project.

Summary

As the law VBG 20 does not yet take into account the requirements given in the protocol of results, and the DIN standard 7003 is published only as a project, Germany is at present in the following situation: Theoretically the running and construction of refrigeration plants using flammable refrigerants is possible. Nevertheless, the law in vigour VBG 20 together with the DIN standard 8975 must be respected. So, only the refrigeration plants respecting the given quantities of refrigerant in these documents are authorized. The paper examins the future outlook in relation to the European standardization.
