Le principal inconvénient des systèmes à laminage pour la cryogénie à 75-100 K est leur rendement relativement faible.
L'analyse thermodynamique montre que la caractéristique "a.m." est liée au faible rendement d'un échangeur thermique et d'un laminage dû à la grande différence de température à l'extrémité friode d'un échangeur thermique.
