Summary
The Proceedings of Indoor air '96 showed that there much research on volatile organic compounds (VOC) is taking place in developed countries in North America and Europe, while more research on thermal environment and HVAC systems (including air cleaning systems) is conducted in Japan. There are also many Japanese papers on allergy research and the percentage of papers on this subject is about 8%, which is higher than the world average of 6%.
