THEORETICAL INVESTIGATION AND PERFORMANCES CHARACTERISTICS OF PERIPHERAL PUMPS.

Author(s) : BARTOLINI C. M., ROMANI G.

Summary

TURBINE PUMPS ARE CHARACTERIZED BY TWO MERIDIAN FLOWS AND BY A SUPERIMPOSED TANGENTIAL FLOW ; IT IS NOT EASY TO CARRY OUT A DETAILED THEORETICAL ANALYSIS OF THIS TOROIDAL FLOW BECAUSE OF THE SIGNIFICANT SEPARATION OF THE FLOWS IN THE TURBINE BLADES. THE AUTHORS CONSIDER THE THEORETICAL ANALYSIS AND EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS WITH THE AIM OF OBTAINING A DIMENSIONLESS CORRELATION BETWEEN THE PRESSURE AND MASS FLOW RATE, ON ONE HAND, AND THE DRIVING TORQUE, ON THE OTHER HAND, BY TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE IMPORTANT CONTRIBUTION OF THE VORTEX VISCOSITY.
