Summary

PRECISION MEASUREMENTS OF THERMAL EXPANSION COEFFICIENT (TEC) WERE PERFORMED ON THE HIGH-TEMPERATURE SUPERCONDUCTING CERAMICS IN THE TEMPERATURE RANGE OF 5 TO 300 K. THE TEMPERATURE DEPENDENCES OF TEC FOR BOTH CERAMICS DISPLAYED SOME SPECIFIC FEATURES. ANALYTICAL TREATMENT OF THE MEASURED RESULTS AND THEIR COMPARISON WITH THOSE AVAILABLE IN LITERATURE ON TEMPERATURE DEPENDENCES OF LATTICE PARAMETERS, SOUND VELOCITY AND ABSORPTION PERMITTED ONE TO SUGGEST THAT THERE WERE SECOND-ORDER PHASE TRANSITIONS IN THE ABOVE CERAMICS THAT PRECEDED THE TRANSITION TO A SUPERCONDUCTING STATE.
