Summary

Low temperature studies (down to -200 °C) have been an area of research at SINTEF for more than 30 years. Materials and systems for low temperature thermal insulation have a major activity as exemplified by a project with Logstor ROR in Denmark. The goal was to develop a thermal insulation system for preinsulated pipes, for use in LNG transport systems (at -162 °C). The results are presented and discussed.
